" We're not trying to do "School at Home." We're trying to do homeschool. These are two entirely different propositions. We're not trying to replicate the time, style or content of the classroom. Rather we're trying to cultivate a lifestyle of learning in which learning takes place from morning until bedtime 7 days each week. The "formal" portion of each teaching day is just the tip of the iceburg. "
Ok... since I am typing in the comment section... this is still a wordless picture *Ü* right?
We have been trying to get Sr. Pictures taken this last week. This was one I liked, but I still need to work on positioning and lighting....ugh… he’s almost done!
I cried last night because it was 9:00 and he wasn’t home and hadn’t called yet.... I realized that a time will come and he won’t come home at all. I can’t tell you how sad that makes me.... It’s very hard to let go.... Its killing me folks....
I missed all my Wordless Wednesday peeps today! I’m off to make dinner and then I will come play!
This is a nice, natural portrait, Lisa. Practicing with that new camera?!? I can't even fathom my sons as seniors, and yet, I know they will be ... in what seems like just a blink of the eye. Happy late WW to you.... :-)
Lisa, this is the first time that I have seen your son! Isn't he handsome! I know you are proud. I know how you feel about letting go. My oldest will be graduating in a year and I know I will be a crying mess, girl!
I am sorry to hear of your struggles/heartache with letting him grow up. I can't even imagine what that must be like. I am sending you a great big hug from TN!
Susan... yup... loving my new camera! Frustrated with my new camera! *Ü* I want to be good at it now please! Thank you very much... heheh
I started tearing up when h hit 8th grade! I’ve been a little emotional ever since! lol I’m a mom what can I do?
Patricia... did I tell you I got "the" camera?? *Ü* I got the bundle from Costco ( for my B-day last month), but bought it at best buy... they honored the bundle price at Costco and gave me a 10% discount on top of that. woohoo!!
Michelle... thanks... I’m not upset... but a tad emotional at times. It so hard to let them really grow up... even though this has always been the goal! lol I’m just scared how I'll act when my girls go through this! lol
Jenny~ You are so right... this hasn’t been the easiest thing for me as a parent, but something I have to force myself to do it. I’m proud of him... he has a lot of growing up to do... He is a boy *Ü* and yet, so proud of the young man he is and who he wants to be.
Hi Kysha! Ya know... I wonder if I feel this way because he is the first one? I hope it gets easier... like with anything we go through... but then again.. I doubt it! lol They are my people... and they are all growing up! 18 years is such a small amount of time to raise a child... in comparison to their lifetime...
Karen! Hello... I cracked up when I read you post because my son said the same thing! Sr. Pictures... what for? They are for me ya know! *Ü* Cause its all about me right now… lol
My biggest disappointment came a few weeks ago, he doesn’t want to take his graduating walk with cap and gown through a State Home school organization... he wants to keep it all on the down low... I told him his graduating wasn’t about him! Its all about me! lol He didn’t buy into it. *Ü*
Brittney! Thanks for the hug! I hope to get a real one! We are driving down to California this Christmas for a week or 2!
Hope you all are having a great weekend! big blog hugs to yas... enjoy your Sunday!!
We live... in the Beautiful Pacific Northwest.... Im 42 years young and I have homeschooled my peeps for 18 years now! 2 grown and on their own, and one just got married!!! I created this blog to share our lives and home school journey and maybe just a bit of therapy for me! I desire a Koinonia relationship with my family and friends. Here you will find an imperfect woman striving to live, love and learn all she can at being a woman, wife, mom and friend.
Isaiah 43:16; 18-19This is what the LORD says--he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters.... "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."

He's very handsome. I don't know that feeling yet, but I know it's only a few years away. Not one of the easier parts of being a parent is it.
